Riverside head football coach Tony Pallanez steps down

Riverside High School is searching for a new head football coach after Tony Pallanez resigned, effective Monday.

Pallanez was 9-21 in three seasons with the Rangers after he was named head coach back in January of 2016.

The Rangers finished the 2018 campaign with a record of 3-7.

Riverside principal Daniel Gurany confirmed the news in an email with ABC-7 Monday afternoon.

“We are very grateful for the hard work and dedication Coach Pallenez provided Riverside High School, all its students, and our community,” said Gurany.

Pallanez worked as a defensive coordinator at Clint High School before taking the Riverside head coaching position.
