Chapin softball star Kristin Fifield signs letter of intent

Kristin Fifield is going to be a Grand Canyon ‘Lope. The talented athlete out of Chapin High School signed her letter of intent today in the school gym.

It was a packed house, and even the band showed up to wish her well.

Fifield is one of the best pitchers in school history and is also a feared hitter at the plate.

Fifield comes from a lineage of athletes. Her sister Kaitlin Fifield played for the UTEP Miners, ranking third on the team’s all-time win list.

Kristin isn’t done with Chapin yet as she has one more season to go with the Huskies.

She helped lead Chapin to an appearance in the Elite 8 in the state playoffs once before, and she is optimistic she can do it again.

“Our expectations are very high this year,” she said. “We have been working this offseason so hard to get back to where we were. And I think we have some new girls that are going to help tremendously and help us get back to where we were.”
