What’s closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Monday is Martin Luther King. Jr. Day.
As you know, several places are not open in observance of the federal holiday.
All major school districts in the borderland are closed. That includes El Paso, Ysleta, Canutillo, Clint, Gadsden and Las Cruces Public Schools.
Tornillo is the only school district that’s open.
UTEP and EPCC are also closed.
El Paso and Las Cruces city administrative offices and facilities will not open as well.
This is what’s closed in El Paso:
— El Paso Museums (Archaeology, Art, History)
— El Paso Public Libraries
— Parks and Recreation (pre-school, daycare, and after school programs, senior centers)
— Greater El Paso Landfill
— Citizen Collection Stations
— Municipal Court
— Public Health
This is what’s open in El Paso:
— Animal Services Shelter
— El Paso Zoo
— Indoor pools
— Recreation centers, from 1 to 6 p.m.: Armijo, Galatzan, Gary del Palacio, Leona F. Washington, Martin Robbins, Pavo Real and Veterans
This is what’s closed in Las Cruces:
— All Recreation Programs/Pools/Community Centers
— Thomas Branigan, Munson and Sage Cafe Libraries
— All Senior Programs
— All Museums
— Convention and Visitors Bureau
— Rio Grande Theatre
Sun Metro regular and LIFT services in El Paso operate on normal schedule.
RoadRunner Transit in Las Cruces also has a regular schedule.
