More Americans expected to spend on Valentine’s Day experiences this year

It’s common to buy roses, chocolates and jewelry as Valentine’s Day gifts, but a new report says more people are choosing experiences.

Mastercard looked into trends and found many Americans are planning to use their money for traveling, hotels and restaurants.

A recent report from the National Retail Federation said fewer people are expected to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

Many of the people who were surveyed said they thought it was an over-commercialized day.

Researchers said about 51 percents of adults plan to do something.

Americans are expected to spend an average of $162 on their loved ones in 2019, according to the National Retail Federation.
