Police arrest alleged leader of Mongols Outlaw motorcycle gang

Police arrested the El Paso chapter president of the Mongols Outlaw motorcycle gang in connection to the alleged assault of a rival gang member, officials said.

Charles Anderson, 46, was taken into custody at about 4:45 a.m. on April 29, 2019 at 8315 Mt. Latona. Police charged Anderson with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

The arrest warrant issued for Anderson was served by the El Paso Police Department SWAT, the EPPD Gang Unit, investigators with The Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, agents with the FBI Safe Streets Gang Unit and agent with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.

Police said Anderson assaulted 48-year-old David Griego, a former rival gang member, on April 5, 2019.

The alleged assault happened at the Busted Knuckle Garage located in the 4300 block of Hondo Pass.

Anderson was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $25,000 bond.
