Chihuahuas fall to Fresno Thursday to snap record streak

All good things must come to an end, as they say.

The Chihuahuas saw their franchise-record 12 game winning streak snapped Thursday in a 2-0 loss on the road against the Fresno Grizzlies.

El Paso was held to just three hits in the game as Fresno’s pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts.

Thursday’s loss also marked the only game this season in which the Chihuahuas failed to score a run.

The Grizzlies got a pair of RBI singles in the third inning that proved to be the only runs of the game as they handed El Paso its first loss in nearly two weeks.

The Chihuahuas are now 19-8 on the season and have still won 18 of their last 20 contests. Meanwhile, Fresno improved to 12-15 on the season.

El Paso will get a chance to begin a new streak when they return home Friday at 7:05 p.m. to meet the Salt Lake Bees.
