UPDATE: Power restored to more than 3,500 customers

UPDATE AT 7:45 A.M.: El Paso Electric tweeted that power was restored by 7:35 a.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: El Paso Electric crews were called out to restore power to more than 3,500 customers Tuesday morning, according to a spokesperson for the utility.

Officials have not said how long it will take to bring electricity back or what caused the outage.

It’s affecting customers in Northeast El Paso and Chaparral in southern New Mexico, according to El Paso Electric’s outage map.

The outage was reported just after 5 a.m.
