3 residents homeless after overnight fire at northeast El Paso apartment complex

The El Paso Fire Department is investigating what caused a small apartment fire in northeast El Paso Wednesday morning.

Crews were called out to the Sagewood Apartments in the 10000 block of Rushing Rd. just before 5 a.m. Three residents were displaced from their apartment, and are receiving help from the Red Cross.

EPFD said an apartment door caught on fire, and it took crews about 10 minutes to put it out.

A spokesman said one person was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A fire department vehicle was also involved in a traffic crash right by the apartments. The spokesman said there were no injuries.
