New Mexico State Police searching for missing 88-year-old woman believed to be in danger

SIERRA COUNTY, New Mexico – State police on Saturday issued a statewide Silver Alert for a missing 88-year-old woman believed to be in danger and asked for the public's help in finding her.

Janet Lorraine Mimovich was last seen Friday evening at the Sierra Del Rio Golf Course in Elephant Butte, authorities said, adding that she is believed to be traveling in a 2012 silver Mercedes sport-utility vehicle with New Mexico license plate WAKJ89.

Police described Mimovich, as 5'5, weighing 135 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes, and noted that she was last seen wearing jeans and carrying a pink purse.

State police asked that anyone who may spot her to call the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office at (575) 894-7111 or 911.
