EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has been working with the San Elizario and Clint Independent School Districts for the past eight years and recently added school resources officers to the Fabens Independent School District.

The officers provide a presence at the campuses for students as well as security measures. The officers also provide mentoring opportunities, social media usage education and anti-drug use education.

Patrol Division Commander Ryan Urrutia has been instrumental in growing the program from nine schools in two districts to nineteen in three school districts.
