Queen Elizabeth II Coffin Procession
EDINBURGH, UK -- ABC News will air a special reportĀ on the Queen's Coffin Procession in Scotland at 7:30 am local time.
Britain's King Charles III and his wife Camilla, Queen Consort, traveled today from London to Edinburgh, where they will walk behind his mother's coffin as it is transported in a procession through the Scottish capital.
Today the coffin will be moved from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St. Giles' Cathedral with Charles and Camilla walking behind.
Crowds of people in Edinburgh, Scotland lined the streets Sunday to say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen's hearse and the procession passed through the city's 'Royal Mile' on its way to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the monarchy in Scotland.Ā
Queen Elizabeth II was 96 years old when she passed away last Thursday. She was the longest serving monarch in British history, over a span of 70 years.
Saturday, King Charles III was publicly declared King, beginning a new era in British history.
