Fire units respond to Bassett Middle School, currently housing migrants, for burning odor
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)- Several fire units responded to Basset Middle School, the temporary migrant shelter, to a call of a burning odor Saturday morning.
The call came in at 4 a.m. Neighbors in the area said there were eight emergency vehicles at the school.
Fire dispatch said no fire was found, and there were no transports to the hospital.
According to the city, about 150 migrants are staying at the school and other sheltering hotels as of Friday.
