Migrant suspected to be pedestrian that was struck and killed on I-10, Monday night

UPDATE: EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A migrant is suspected to be the pedestrian that was struck and killed on I-10 westbound, Monday night.

“On Monday, Oct. 16, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a suspected migrant was hit by a semi-truck when the migrant attempted to across Interstate 10 in West El Paso.  This occurred after a group of migrants attempted to evade U.S. Border Patrol Agents between Loop 375 and Interstate 10" said Border Patrol Agent Herrera-Baeza. "This tragic incident demonstrates the dangers of illegally crossing the border. The only safe and legal way to enter the United States is at the ports of entry. Criminal smuggling organizations place lives at risk by lying to migrants and encouraging them to enter the U.S. illegally in dangerous ways that often leads tragedy.”

This is a developing story.
