14-year-old Las Cruces boy in critical condition after being shot in head

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- A 14-year-old boy was shot in the head and critically wounded early Tuesday and police were trying to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.

It happened shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning in the 2200 block of north Alameda Boulevard in the Alameda Acres Mobile Home Park.

The boy was listed in critical but stable condition after being flown from Las Cruces to University Medical Center in El Paso.

Investigators asked anyone who may have information to call Las Cruces police at (575) 526-0795.
