Bomb squad says suspicious package found at west El Paso credit union wasn’t explosive
EL PASO, Texas -- For the second time in several days, the El Paso police bomb squad on Tuesday examined a suspicious package found at a west El Paso business before determining that it wasn't an explosive device.
Tuesday's suspicious item was discovered at the First Light Credit Union at 5050 N. Desert. Police reported summoning the bomb squad to the scene around 11:30 a.m.
It was about 12:50 p.m. that authorities said they determined the package didn't contain any explosives and gave an all-clear.
Police did not indicate what the package actually contained.
On Sunday, bomb squad technicians examined another suspicious package that was left at the Auto Zone store in the 2400 block of N. Mesa. They also determined that item was safe and posed no public safety threat.
