EL PASO, Texas — El Paso police SWAT was called out Monday evening to a home in the 3400 block of East Glen for a barricaded man with a weapon, who would later surrender to authorities after an almost three-hour standoff.
The east El Paso ordeal stemmed from what police said was an aggravated assault and family violence incident that happened about 6:45 p.m.
The standoff ended around 9 p.m. with the man’s arrest; there were no reports of any injuries and a police spokesman didn't indicate what type of weapon he reportedly had in his possession.
The suspect was identified as a man around 30 years-old, but his name wasn't released. The charges he faces were not immediately provided by authorities on Monday night.
