City of Juarez investigating after garbage truck dumped pile of trash on main boulevard

JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- On Monday, a garbage truck operated by a private company dropped a large amount of trash onto Manuel Gómez Morín, one of Juarez's main boulevards.

This trash dump caused accidents and traffic backups in the early hours of Monday morning when people were driving to work and school.

Juarez residents complained about this issue, saying it added to the stress of their morning commute.

Businesses in the area also shared surveillance videos of the incident with the city.

The City of Juarez had announced a change in the trash pickup service starting on Monday. They clarified the incident was not caused by any of the new garbage trucks the city hired a few weeks ago.

Gibran Solis, the city's director of maintenance, said this company is overseen by the state and will file a fine.
