El Paso’s Viva & Fiesta Auto Group acquires Vescovo Toyota of Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- A major El Paso auto dealer group is taking over ownership of a top car dealership in southern New Mexico.
The Viva & Fiesta Auto Group announced its acquisition Monday of Vescovo Toyota of Las Cruces, located at 780 South Valley Drive.
Viva officials said George Vescovo would stay on as general manager of the dealership that had been owned and operated by his family since the 1980s. It will now bear the name Viva Toyota.
In addition to keeping Vescova as GM, Viva dealer principal Jamie Dick said they would also be retaining all employees at "the dealership (which) has repeatedly been the top-volume new-vehicle franchise in Las Cruces and was voted Best New Car Dealership and Best Used Car Dealership by Las Cruces residents."
With the Las Cruces operation added to its portfolio, Viva & Fiesta - the largest auto group in the southwestern U.S. - will now operate auto dealerships in three New Mexico communities (Las Cruces, Albuquerque and Santa Fe) as well as multiple dealerships in El Paso.
