Las Cruces High School on lockdown due to bomb threat
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Las Cruces High School was on lockdown for a portion of Friday afternoon due to a bomb threat, officials said.
A school district spokeswoman said a call came in at 2:18 p.m. saying there was a bomb at the high school.
Even though officials said the threat was not believed to be credible, police underwent the process of clearing the school to make sure it was safe.
School officials said the dismissal time for the high school's 1,400 students was impacted and the district sent notices to parents.
The lockdown was lifted shortly before 4 p.m.
