Emergence Health Network working to grow program to prevent kids, teens from juvenile probation
EL PASO, Texas -- Emergence Health Network is trying to raise mental health awareness across the Borderland and that includes providing services like Multi-Systemic Therapy.
It's a intensive in-home family therapy geared towards kids and teens in in juvenile probation.
The short term program lasts about three to five months. It's has been around for several years and has had a lot of success making sure these kids and teens avoid re-arrests, according to Emergence.
Sara Polk the program's clinical supervisor. "We really want those kids to be with their family, their normal primary caregivers, and we want them to be involved in...school, pro-social activities."
Emergence's program is one of two MST programs in the entire state, the other in Harris County.
Emergence was recently given $1 million to increase it's team and help it's team.
