City of El Paso wants your help with upcoming city budget

KVIA

EL PASO, Texas -- The City of El Paso is working on the budget for fiscal year 2023 and what to hear from residents through their annual "Chime In" survey.

"It really is an opportunity for their voice to be heard when it comes to our annual budget process," said Nicole Cote, director of management and budget with the city.

Cote said responses from the quick online survey are used as well as specific requests from city council in order to figure out how to budget the upcoming year.

Those who participate can select what areas of the strategic plan are their top priority, which include public safety, community health, or infrastructure, quality of life, or communication just to name a few.

Cote said so far many residents are showing a big interest in our parks as well as streets, which could be anything from resurfacing to intersection safety.

Those who complete the survey have an opportunity to win tickets to one of the city's water parks.

There is also an option to participate in smaller focus to help with the budget process.

Responses will be presented to city council at the end of June, with the goal of adopting the FY23 budget by mid-August.
