El Paso City Council votes to give fire, police retirees cost of living adjustment

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso City Council voted today to increase benefits for those retiring from the El Paso Fire Department and El Paso Police Department.

The vote was unanimous to approve a second-tier plan cost of living adjustment.

That will provide a 1.5% cost of living increase for fire and police personnel after five years of retirement.

That is in addition to their current benefits.
