Water outage planned for Red Mountain Circle residents to test new water system
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - Las Cruces Council District 6 is rolling out a new water system in the Red Mountain Circle area.
A planned water outage will allow crews to test the system on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crews will post door-to-door hanger notices 24-hour in advance to let households know who will be affected.
Caliper Construction is working on the project that is part of the Parkhill Estates Phase 8C subdivision.
The outage may affect nearby areas. Residents may notice discolored water once service is restored, but should disappear within 24 hours.
City crews want neighbors to know the discoloration may be due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Water is safe to drink, it is recommended neighbors wait for the water to run clear before doing laundry.
