ELEPHANT BUTTE, New Mexico — Search crews have recovered the body of a 27-year-old man from Elephant Butte lake, the New Mexico State Police said Monday.

ABC affiliate KOAT said there was word of a recent drowning after police received reports that a man who had jumped from a boat into the lake had not come back up.

The state police dive team was called to the scene to help search for the man and on Sunday they found the man’s body.

At this time, police said they were not identifying the individual until family had been notified.
