40% of eligible El Pasoans now vaccinated; 13 new virus deaths
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced 13 new coronavirus-related deaths and 174 new cases Thursday.
El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,535. There are 48 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.
The latest fatality victims were identified as:
- 1 man in his 40s
- 2 men in their 50s
- 2 women in their 50s
- 1 man in his 60s
- 2 women in their 70s
- 3 men in their 70s
- 1 woman in her 80s
- 1 man in his 80s
El Paso health department data shows that 40% of El Pasoans over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated, with 62.4% having received at least one shot.
The number of known active cases now stands at 2,407, an increase of 24 from Wednesday.
There are 153 Covid-19 patients (-20) in El Paso hospitals, with 48 (-3) of those patients in intensive care units.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 133,982 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 128,925 reported recoveries.
