EL PASO, Texas -- A 30-year-old El Paso man who admitted to coercing a 4-year-old in his production of child porn has been sentenced to over 16 years in prison.

U.S. District Court Judge David C. Guaderrama also ordered Jorge Mario Minjarrez-Reyes to be placed on a lifetime of supervised release, and Minjarrez-Reyes must pay a $5,000 assessment following his imprisonment.

According to court documents, Jorge Mario Manjarrez-Reyes used a peer-to-peer program to share images of child pornography. Homeland Security Investigators say they found about 513 images and 619 videos depicting child pornography on Manjarrez-Reyes' electronic devices.

“The defendant’s reprehensible actions justify the lengthy prison sentence as this child’s life will be
forever impacted,” said U.S. Attorney Ashley C. Hoff. “This office will persist in our efforts to
ensure that those who seek to prey on children are found and held accountable.
