Off-duty Border Patrol agent shot outside eastside restaurant Saturday

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - ABC-7 has learned new details about a shooting outside an eastside restaurant over the weekend.

Sources close to the investigation said the man who was shot was an off-duty Border Patrol agent.

New video surfaced from that night shows the moment the man was shot outside the El Cometa restaurant.

It showed two men getting into a scuffle before the shot rang out and later one man was seen lying on the floor.

Police said the victim is a 38-year-old man and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released the names of the two men involved or any arrests.

One El Paso resident tells ABC-7 gun violence like this is becoming too common.

“Nowadays, we don't know what can happen. I'm always looking over my shoulder. I mean, that's the way this world is going. You need to look and be vigil in everything you do nowadays," said El Pasoan Rosa Hernandez.
