Final day drama: Things to know about testimony on the Titan sub disaster

Last year, five people hoping to view the Titanic wreckage died when their submersible imploded deep in the Atlantic Ocean. A Coast Guard panel that’s investigating the disaster wrapped up two weeks of testimony on Friday. Chair Jason Neubauer ended final day with a moment of silence for those who died when the submersible imploded en route to the Titanic wreck last year. The final day brought some dramatic moments, including testimony that OceanGate co-founder Stockton Rush boasted that he would “buy himself a congressman” and a Coast Guard commander learning of an after-the-fact statement that could’ve altered the rescue response.
