Kayla Bowen had herself a day to help the Aggies avoid the sweep

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The Aggies avoided the sweep on Saturday with a 6-5 victory over UT Arlington.

Eight Aggies recorded base hits, including Jillian Taylor and Kayla Bowen who both had multi-hit days. Bowen went 2-3 at the plate with RBIs and 2 home runs. She now has 12 home runs for the season and 41 for her career.

Bowen's home runs Saturday saw the Aggies go seven straight games with a home run. The team now has 66 on the season.

Aydenne Brown got the nod to start game three after going 6.1 innings in game one of the series on Friday. Laurali Patane closed out the final three innings and allowed just two earned runs.

NM State is back on the road this week for their final road series of 2023 to play Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Aggies will return home the following week for the regular season finale where they are set to host Abilene Christian for a three-game series.
