Although he has had great associations with Texans, Kalvin never expected to be a Texan himself.
When the Director of Sales position at KVIA presented itself as a possibility, "it just felt right."
From his first day in El Paso, Kalvin has loved living in Texas, specifically, the Borderland.
Kalvin now considers himself an extension of the El Paso Visitor's Bureau, working to spread the word about what a great place El Paso is.
Kalvin began his advertising career in Bakersfield, California, working for the country music legend Buck Owens. From Bakersfield, Kalvin has worked in Denver, Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls and now El Paso.
In addition to selling television advertising, Kalvin has sold radio, newspaper, direct mail and internet advertising. He will tell you that television advertising is his favorite.
After cheering his wife on during her first two marathons, Kalvin decided to make it a personal goal of his own to complete a marathon. One marathon was quickly followed by a second, and before you know it, he was training for his 63rd marathon - the Boston Marathon!
Kalvin will smile when he tells you he has a B.S. degree in Marketing from the University of Utah. While working on his degree, he married his high school sweetheart. They have five children, who primarily live in Salt Lake City.
