Rosemary Montañez is ecstatic to be joining the Good Morning El Paso team as an anchor and help the community get ready for their day!

Rosemary is a born and raised El Pasoan. She is proud to call the Borderland home!

Her love for broadcast journalism was uncovered at a young age. It was through watching KVIA's newscasts that Rosemary’s love for television and storytelling was born.

After graduating high school, Rosemary decided to continue her education at El Paso Community College. At EPCC, she encountered several professors who helped fuel her love for journalism and guided her toward her next destination.

Rosemary continued her education at New Mexico State University. She quickly became very involved with KRWG News22, NMSU’s live, student-produced broadcast, gaining an invaluable wealth of knowledge. She was even awarded the Best Original Production award by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association in 2021.

Rosemary joined the ABC-7 family in June 2021 as a multimedia journalist/reporter, just six months before graduating from NMSU. In December 2021, Rosemary received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies.

During her time as a reporter at KVIA, Rosemary was able to cover several different issues, including President Joe Biden’s visit to the Southern border, the lifting of Title 42 and the continuous influx of migrants in El Paso.

Rosemary enjoys showcasing the best of the Borderland! Feel free to reach out to her with story ideas or restaurant recommendations!
