EPPD: 80-year-old man stabbed to death by 25-year-old family member in lower valley

UPDATE: Police told ABC-7 that a 25-year-old man fatally stabbed an 80-year-old male family member.

Police officers from Mission Valley Regional Command were called out by a family member to an aggravated family assault that had just occurred a little after 5:30 Wednesday morning. When they arrived, they met with family members and found that the 80-year-old had died from his injuries.

Police said there were four people in the home at the time of the incident and are not aware of any children at the residence.

The 25-year-old was taken into police custody.

Crimes Against Persons is currently investigating.

EL PASO, Texas -- Crimes Against Persons detectives responded to a family violence call at 300 Colmillo Wednesday in the lower valley.

A police spokesman is expected to speak about what happened within the hour.
