Car crashes into central El Paso home, 1 hurt

EL PASO, Texas -- A car struck a home in a central El Paso neighborhood Thursday afternoon, leaving one person injured.

The sedan hit the house in the 3100 block of Douglas about 2:45 p.m.

Authorities said one person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with relatively minor injuries.

Yellow tape blocked off the area around the house as officials said a city engineer would have to evaluate the safety of the structure to determine if residents could be allowed back inside.

There was no immediate word from investigators on what caused the crash or whether the car's driver would face any charges stemming from the incident.
