ABC-7 First Alert: One more day of rain before drying out
Good Monday morning all! I'm back again! It was a noisy night yesterday with a line of strong storms that moved around the area. Many areas saw close to an inch of rain in the past 24 hours, and also worth mentioning- it's rained every day over the past 7 days in El Paso, for a total of 1.61" of rain since the start of the month.
More rain is expected later today, however, it appears like the heaviest rain will impact the lower valley into Hudspeth county. Of course, this may be good news for areas that have seen over an inch of rain over the past several days, as flooding will be more likely in your area due to saturated grounds. Still, we are keeping the flood threat in for any location that gets under a thunderstorm. In addition, I'm not excluding the rest of El Paso and Las Cruces from seeing rain today- there is a chance, but its slightly less likely for NW El Paso and north.
After today, the weather scenario will change, giving us drier conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday. However...rain chances will increase AGAIN by the end of this week and into the weekend. What a wet October! Stay safe!
