ABC-7 First Alert: Winds, Hail, and Possible Tornadoes Threaten East of the Rio Grande

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- An ABC-7 First Alert has been issued for this afternoon and evening, with the potential for severe weather mainly along and east of the Rio Grande.

Forecasts indicate strong gusty winds over 58 mph, hail up to 1 inch, and the slight possibility of one or two tornadoes.



Sunday's weather will bring another chance for storms, especially east of the Continental Divide, with a few strong thunderstorms possible in the Sacramento Mountains.
Calmer conditions are expected Monday through Friday, with above-normal temperatures reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s in the lowlands by week's end.
