ABC-7 First Alert: Scattered storms east could produce gusty winds and dust, Friday

An ABC-7 First Alert is in effect for potential thunderstorms Friday afternoon across eastern counties. Scattered storms will begin to develop late afternoon/evening producing thunderstorms across Hudspeth and Culberson county with isolated chances for east El Paso. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, small hail, and blowing dust.

Afternoon highs will be warm again climbing to the 90s.

The weather system makes an exit Saturday, setting the stage for drier weather along with gusts around 30 to 35 mph. Unfortunately, the dry windy weather will bring increased fire danger. The winds will stick around on Mother's Day with gusts near 35 to 40 mph with above normal temperatures.
