ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Near-record heat expected in El Paso this week
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- High pressure is gradually building northward over New Mexico, bringing a dry west to southwest flow that will push temperatures well above normal.
Near-record highs are expected to start Tuesday and could continue through the weekend.
The current weather pattern shows dry air settling in behind an upper low in Colorado, with a sub-tropical high developing over the Desert Southwest.
This setup will keep skies mostly clear and temperatures climbing.
El Paso could see multiple daily record highs and potentially break the record for the latest 90-degree day and the total number of 90+ degree days.
