LCPD: Massage Parlors Searched, Accused In Prostitution Investigation
Las Cruces police officials say a pair of massage parlors is suspected of promoting prostitution and, possibly, human-trafficking.
Officers with the police department’s special services unit, along with FBI and ICE agents, served search warrants at the businesses Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators simultaneously entered the Bally Hot Stone Spa at 1685 Don Roser Drive and the Green Hot Stone Spa at 2903 Hillrise Drive.
Police said two female employees at each location were taken into custody for questioning but no arrests have been made so far.
Investigators said In April, a sergeant with the Las Cruces police department learned of an advertisement on the website Craigslist for the Bally Massage Spa that offered ?beautiful, friendly Asian staff waiting for you.?
Police said the ad also included a seductive photo of a woman.
The sergeant contacted an agent with the FBI and both began investigating the establishment.
Investigators told ABC-7 during the course of the investigation, “erotic reviews? for both Bally?s and the Green Hot Stone Spa were uncovered on Internet sites that cater to escort services.
Over the next few months, undercover agents visited both businesses and were offered sexual services in exchange for cash, police said.
Investigators said the agents did not accept the offers but did gather enough evidence to support Wednesday’s search warrants.
Police said the owner of the businesses faces possible charges of promoting prostitution and accepting earnings of a prostitute.
