Gum Removal In El Paso Is Sticky Business

Steve Adjemian looks at things a little differently when he?s in Downtown El Paso.
?It?s like a Dalmatian,? he says, starting toward the Kress building ? a structure which evokes a more lavish era when Downtown boomed.
But he?s not talking about the historic building.
Instead, it?s an apt description of the sidewalk. It?s covered in quarter-sized black spots scattered no more than six inches apart ? roughly two years worth of masticated gum.
