Playground on East Side burned down for 2nd time

The city of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department has closed a park on the East Side after vandals scorched the playground.

According to the city, the Indian Heights playground was burned down Wednesday, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

A temporary fence is in place and crime scene tape is around the area.

This is the second time in three years that the park has been set on fire.

Anyone with information on this latest fire is asked to call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 915-485-5699.
