No threat at Fort Bliss, Spur 601 reopened

A Fort Bliss spokesman tells ABC-7 Spur 601 has been reopened.

Police on post were investigating reports of a live grenade earlier this afternoon and closed Spur 601 in between Fred Wilson and Sergeant Major Blvd.

A soldier turning in munitions notified officials on post, who then contacted the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, the spokesman said.

The unit cordoned off the area and safely retrieved the munition.
