EU top official Ursula von der Leyen says she is self-isolating following contact with Covid-19 case
BRUSSELS (AP) — European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and one of her EU Commissioners have placed themselves in isolation after being in contact with a person infected with the coronavirus. The head of the EU’s executive arm said she took part in a meeting last Tuesday in Portugal that was attended by “a person who yesterday tested positive.” She said she tested negative for the virus on Thursday and that she will undergo another test later Monday. Research Commissioner Mariya Gabriel also announced she was self-isolating after a member of her team had tested positive.
