Woman crashes car into east El Paso home; police say she was drunk
UPDATE: A woman was driving drunk when she crashed her car into an east El Paso home earlier in the day, police said Thursday afternoon in announcing the filing of charges in the incident.
Investigators said Ashley Rae Turley, 27, of El Paso, had a blood alcohol level of more than two times the legal limit when she drove her car into a homeowner's garage at 2101 Robert Wynn around 5:30 a.m. and caused extensive damage.
Turley, who wasn't injured, was booked into the downtown jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated; a judge set her bond at $1,000.
The homeowners have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay to repair the damage.
