ReadyOne Industries Names New President

EL PASO, TX – Thomas G. Ahmann has been named President of ReadyOne Industries.

The decision was announcedWednesday by Leonard Goodman III, Chairman of the Board at the company. “His integrity, leadership skills and experience in the manufacturing industry represent another positive step in the future direction of ReadyOne,” he said.

According to company officials, Ahmann has extensive working experience in all facets of the garment finishing industries. He was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Merchandising at American Garment Finishers in El Paso from 1988-2001. He also held an executive position at a textile plant in Turkey, Sun Apparel and Billy the Kid in El Paso, and a manufacturing plant in Iowa.

Ahmann is a native of Minneapolis but has lived in El Paso since the 1970’s, company officialssay. He praised the management team at the companyand said he is looking forward to working with them. “Ihave always managed to survive and prosper in a very difficult industry…I lookforwardto the opportunity to take ReadyOne Industries to new levels of success,” he said.

Joe Wardy, the former Mayor of El Paso recently resigned as president of ReadyOne. Wardy took over as president for Bob Jones soon after the FBI raided the offices of the company, then known as the National Center for the Employment of the Disabled (NCED). The raid was conducted as part of an ongoing FBI public corruption investigationinvolving Access Healthsource, a subsidiary ofNCED, and several key El Paso public figures.

ReadyOne is a participant in AbilityOne,a federal program that awards contracts to companies that employ blind or disabled people.The companyprovides garments for the U.S. armed forces. Ahmann said he will continue to make sure 75% of the workers at the company are disabled, a requirement that was not met by the company during Jones’ tenure and nearly ended in thetermination of it’s federal contract.

“I want to focus on the employees, the quality of operations, garnering new contracts, and maintaining full compliance with federal guidelines. I see ReadyOne becoming the model for all non-profit agencies in the AbilityOne program across the country,” Ahmann said.
