Man sentenced after killing 5 while driving under the influence
A man that killed five people in East El Paso County learned his sentence Friday.
Alberto Coronado was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to five counts of intoxicated manslaughter.
Coronado ran a stop sign, and struck a car carrying two adults and three children at the intersection of John Henrry and Saiesteban in Montana Vista in July of 2012.
Sheriff’s deputies say a blood alcohol test taken shortly after the crash showed Coronado was drunk at the time.
The crash happened just days before he was set to appear in court on a prior DWI case.
