ABC-7 looks into what Pope Francis will have for lunch when he visits Ciudad Juarez

What will Pope Francis have for lunch when he visits Ciudad Juarez?

ABC-7 doesn’t have a complete menu but we do know this: it will be Mexican food!We also know that a group of seminarians will serve the head of the Catholic church!

ABC-7 learned that a maximum 100 people will be allowed inside the Seminario Conciliar to include invited bishops, priests and nuns.

Pope Francis, who travels with his personal chef, will use a menu that will be sent from Mexico City.

During a news conference, Fr. Juan Manuel Orona, the JZ seminary’s rector is quoted as saying the pontiff is “an 80-year-old man, so he won’t be eating mole Poblano, even though we’d want him to. It’ll be something like rice, chicken, fish. Nothing too heavy or seasoned because of his health and the activities he has programmed.”

Pope Francis is on a tight schedule so he’ll rest and pray for about 30 minutes before he continues his historic visit to Ciudad Juarez.

Fr. Orona said the pope “has given us examples of humility and austerity, so we will follow them.”

Still, the seminary is getting a a fresh coat of paint and new floors to welcome Pope Francis.
