Coach Allan Sepkowitz Dies

Legendary El Paso football coach Allan Sepkowitz has died. ABC-7’s Bob Harp confirmed with the Andress High School Alumni Association that Coach Sep., as he was affectionately called, died Thursday evening. El Paso’s winningest High School football coach suffered from a stroke last month. Sepkowitz was recovering from brain surgery he had the week of Christmas. He was 76-years-old. When retiring from Andress after 47 years as the football coach, Sepkowitz told ABC-7, “”Forty-seven years has really gone by pretty fast.” The impact he had on so many young lives, however, will be long-lasting.

Friends, colleagues and students are leaving their condolences on Coach Sep.’s Facebook page, like Kathy, who writes, “Rest in peace COACH SEPKOWITZ! you were an inspiration to so many and we know you are no longer hurting ….PRAYERS TO THE BEAUTIFULJune Sepkowitz….we are all lifting you up in prayer.”
