Wanted fugitive from Albuquerque arrested after police chase in West El Paso

Police say a wanted fugitive from Albuquerque was arrested in El Paso after a police chase.

It happened at 5:30 A.M on Saturday on the 4000 block of Doniphan in West El Paso.

Officers were called about a man down inside a vehicle on Doniphan. Officers were told the car was reported stolen and that 26-year old Victor Juan Galvan was wanted for a violent felony and was believed to be armed with firearms.

When officers arrived, the suspect fled in a vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit came to an end at the 5100 block of Memory, where the offender was extricated from the car by the officers.

Three officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest. Galvan was treated at Las Palmas Hospital for minor injuries he sustained during his extrication.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for unauthorized use of motor vehicle, and evading arrest in a motor vehicle with bonds totaling $10,000. He is also being held on a detainer as a fugitive from justice with no bond.
