City hall discusses neighborhood traffic management program
program. abc-7’s maria garcia is live with the details. the neighborhood traffic management program is what the city uses to meet the request of residents who want to ease traffic in their neighborhoods. for example, if you call the city wanting a speed hump – your request goes through the program. the program was in the news most recently when the city violated its policy and installed speed humps in front of cathedral high school. today: city staff came to council asking it to approve the next six priority projects. these include roundabouts, speed humps and other street improvements that manage traffic. but city rep. lily limon said city employees had already started work on one of the projects in her district – without notifying her. city employees said the work was temporary and limon may not have been notified because the program has had a change in management. “and give us input and give u their feedback because we want this to be a community driven solution not a staff driven solution.” “i would like to se full and accurate information. this is a very important step. and given the controversy with speed humps, that we could have a review.” only limon had a problem with the recommendation. the rest of council voted to approve the 1.2 million dollars for it. city employees say the process to pick these projects is regulated. they get requests from residents, require signatures from the community and study justifying the construction. maria, live tonight with the latest from city council. thank you. what a beautiful
