Developer: Massive new development will be built in three phases; construction begins in August

Transmountain Partners, the developer behind the $350 million Franklin Galleria Mall, told ABC-7 the project will come to live in three phases.

The massive new mall will include a Cinergy entertainment complex, which will reportedly house 10 auditoriums, 18 lanes of upscale bowling, two full-service bars, and premium dining options.

“Phase two and three will be developed around the same time, including the Franklin Center, which will be high, on retail and then the development of apartment buildings and multi-living housing,” said Mike Hutson, an attorney representing Transmountain Partners.

The Cinergy Entertainment complex will be located on the northeast corner of Transmountain and I-10 within the Franklin Galleria Mall. It will reportedly include multiple escape rooms, a fully loaded game floor with more than 110 interactive games, a sky walker with a zip line, a multIlevel laser tag arena and multiple event rooms.

“With two brand-new hospitals, The Outlet Shops of El Paso and a new Abundant Living Faith Church all nearby, Franklin Galleria aims to provide the type of next-level entertainment that our community needs,” said Jose Gonzalez, the developer of the Franklin Galleria said.

The developers believe the market is there for this type of entertainment facility.

“We have more than 2 million people in a 50 mile radius that includes Las Cruces and the outer skirts of El Paso and the northern part of New Mexico who loves to come to the outlet to shop,” Hutson said.

The developers aren’t releasing the names of any of the restaurants they expect to house within the facility, but they are focusing on high-end restaurants with “no discounts.”

“I think a lot of businesses have underestimated the buying power of El Pasoans,” Hutson said.

Developers expect to break ground by late August and complete the first phase in a year.

Real estate agent Christine Kemp told ABC-7 she expects the future development to boost home sales in the area. “We expect it to bring a big flood of people to this side of town and those people will need a place to stay in,” Kemp said.
